Removing the veil

The Sisters of the Carmelites of Indianapolis were facing a uniquely modern dilemma, with participation by younger members dropping sharply. The strategy? Bring transparency to the heart and soul of this very unique group of older women, and in so doing remove the veil of misconceptions that deter new member participation. PrayTheNews was an online experience designed to support the voice of the Sisters through sharing of prayer and discussion of urgent world topics by key Sisters. The site also sought to connect with visitors through prayer submission via the "light a candle" experience, and to educate about life in the Sisterhood through serenity-based experiences and journal-based examples of life in the Sisterhood.
